15 & 30 Hour Funding
Understanding government funding can be difficult and confusing. We are here to help in person if needed.
Here is some important information for you that might help:
How do I get funding for childcare?
A useful link below.
Am I eligible for 15 or 30 hours funded care?
If you are a working family you may be eligible for funded care. 2 year old who are disadvantaged may also be eligible for 15 hours care. All applications should be made online at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk An 11 digit code is then produced which you should give to nursery. You will then be asked to sign termly declarations that you are still eligible. Parents are responsible for applying for the funding as places must be paid for if funding isn't claimed.
Will funding cover all my nursery costs?
Funding may be used for breakfast club, main nursery sessions and after school club. It cannot be used to fund the lunch cost of £3.00 or holiday club. The £5 care charge for lunch can be included in your funded hours. You may purchase additional hours so your child can attend more sessions than just your entitlement.
Do I only need to apply once?
You only need to apply for 30 hours once, however you will have to update your details every three months. HMRC will send you emails reminding you when that date is coming up. It is vital you update or you could lose your eligibility for funding.
When can I access funding for my two three or four year old?
All children can begin to receive their free education hours from the term after their second birthday. Working families may be eligible for funding after their child is nine months old. St Paul's Nursery does not offer places to children until they turn two. Funding can be used as soon as they become eligible or families may purchase places.
